There are cultural differences and one can ignore them and hope for the best (NOT THE BEST APPROACH) or one can gain an understanding of the similarities and differences (SMART APPROACH). Once someone understands the cultural differences the communication and interactions between people improves significantly. We want to help you be successful in whatever situation brings you in contact with people from other cultures.
The cliché ‘time is money’ couldn’t be more true in some cultures but does everyone look at the world this way? Ensuring that all parties are on the same wave length so that business is conducted effectively is of the utmost importance. A vital component of successful business is effective communication. It isn’t just what is said but also:
- how it is said (intonation)
- what is said (vocabulary, idioms)
- when and where it is said (timing)
